Most of your competition hates to take back merchandise or offer customers a new item if it is not right. Just remember, the customer is always right. Do you want to lose a customer over a few dollars as well as all the people they tell when you spend thousands of dollars on advertising each year? Your best advertising is the satisfied customer.

Imagine returning a one-month old coffeemaker that doesn’t work to a clerk who won’t or can’t help you. How would you feel? Then imagine returning the same coffeemaker to a clerk who immediately exchanges it, telling you to return the new one if it also doesn’t work. To which store would you bring your business? Remember, the customer pays your salary. Don’t you forget it.
